About your question, yes and no, depends on the book. In most of them, I pull in bits and pieces of real situations I've been in and juggle them around and embellish them to make them more dramatic, as well as to protect the privacy of real people. In other books, particularly The Wrong Side of the Tracks, I lived through almost everything the entire story, because that one is a highly biographical novel, a coming of age story. Also, Baby Talk, has a lot of real bits in it from the experience of having a little sister born when I was six. 😃
